Top Outdoor Entertainment Venues in Denver, CO

Denver never lacks for entertainment events throughout the year. Whether it’s a concert, a live performance, or film showing, there’s always something lined up somewhere in the metro. And in true Denver fashion, many of the most exciting events are held in fun outdoor venues that are as diverse as the city itself.

Catch a show at these top entertainment spots in the city:

Red Rocks Amphitheater

This extremely popular venue owes its fame to the area’s magnificent red sandstone rock formations that date to the prehistoric era. The unique geological structure makes for a natural amphitheater, with two towering monoliths providing the perfect acoustics. Thanks to its beauty and somewhat secluded location 6,450 feet above sea level, it has become one of the most sought-after venues by top artists, productions, and audiences from around the world.

During the summer, the amphitheater hosts Film on the Rocks, one of Denver’s top events for the season. For the rest of the year, the venue hosts concerts, fitness events, food festivals, and many more.

Infinity Park

Located in Glendale just 15 minutes from downtown Denver, Infinity Park is a 16-acre facility hosting some of the biggest shows and sporting events in the metro. It’s home to the Glendale Raptors Rugby Team, so expect exciting rugby games all year round. During the summer, it hosts Monday Movie Madness, transforming the park into one of the largest movie theaters in the entire state. Thousands flock to the venue to catch a movie outdoors for free.

The park features several indoor and outdoor venues that can accommodate anywhere from 48 to 10,000 people. It’s a year-round destination for concerts, festivals, corporate events, weddings, and private parties.

UMB Bank Amphitheater at Denver Botanic Gardens

Also known as York Street, this beautiful venue hosts live performances and numerous private events all year round, including weddings, dances, and holiday celebrations. In summertime, it holds a Summer Concert Series featuring some of the top musical acts in the world. Considered one of Denver’s best music venues, the amphitheater provides a stunning backdrop of gorgeous flora in a tropical garden setting. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and a bottle of wine, and have a picnic while enjoying a great musical performance.

Pepsi Center

This enormous arena is a major venue for big concerts and sporting events. Covering 45 acres, it features a 675,000-square-feet, 5-level facility that can seat up to 19,500 for basketball games and more than 20,000 for concerts. It’s the home of the Denver Nuggets (NBA), the Colorado Avalanche (NHL), and the Colorado Mammoth (NLL). A cutting-edge sound system, scoreboard, and projection system add to the excitement of watching a concert or game at this arena.

Elitch Gardens

Located in downtown Denver, this popular theme and water park has a long history that goes back to the 1890s, when it first opened as a zoo. Today, the facility has grown to 65 acres and features a wide assortment of amusement rides, daily shows, and attractions. Concerts are staged here regularly and come free with a season pass or an admission ticket. Dive-in movies at the water park are also shown during the summer.
